The administrative, cultural, economic and tourist centre of the central Liptov region is the city of LIPTOVSKÝ MIKULÁŠ.

The centre of the eastern part of Poiplie and historical region of Novohrad is the district town LUČENEC which was founded on the crossroads of old trade routes it still preserved the active commerce.

Situated in the center of the southern part of the Záhorská Plain (Záhorská nížina), the town of MALACKY is a significant economic, administrative and cultural centre of the area. The Morava river flows west of the town and the Little Carpathians stretch on the east.

Once at least as famous as the Austrian Mariazell or the Polish Częstochowá, MARIANKA is the oldest pilgrimage place in Slovakia and the first Marian pilgrimage place in the entire Kingdom of Hungary. Famous rulers and ordinary mortals too have been coming here for centuries to visit the magical town, the place of miracles.

MARTIN for the majority of Slovaks is above all the centre of the national life since the mid-19th century.

The small town of MEDZILABORCE is located in north-eastern Slovakia and takes pride in the first museum in Europe named after Andy Warhol, the famous global pop-art icon.

MICHALOVCE is the economic and cultural centre of the Lower Zemplín. The town lies in the northern part of the Východoslovenská nížina lowland watered by the middle reach of the Laborec river.

An old vineyard town, since 1607 a Free Royal MODRA, is one of dominant places in the vineyard region of the Little Carpathians. It is situated on the south-eastern hillside of the Little Carpathians. The region belongs among the protected areas including many recreation resorts.

The town of MOLDAVA NAD BODVOU is situated to the south-east of Košice. Its significance and geographical position have made it a natural centre of the region and its infrastructure and services make it an ideal starting point for various trips to discover the local history and nature.
