The fictitious "Matúš's Kingdom" is situated in the western part of Slovakia. This project revives the rich history of this area that is based on numerous legends and myths, castles and chateaux. It presents this history to both Slovak and foreign visitors in an unusal manner.

Those who feel like wandering in the mountain landscape should visit the biggest Slovak volcano - the stratovolcano Poľana and the contiguous mountain range Veporské vrchy. There are not only hundreds of kilometres of marked hiking footpaths and a number of natural landmarks but also tourist service intended both for a current and extra demanding clientele.

The association of the Slovak Royal Towns - boroughs Kežmarok, Stará Ľubovňa, Bardejov and Levoča try to remind the past glory of the Medieval Age and to present it to visitors.

In 1996, the idea to create the first tourist route dedicated to history and culture of the particular regions was realized. It is the Gothic Route which connects two historic counties of Spiš and Gemer, and even crosses the frontiers with Poland in the north and with Hungary in the south.
