The most important monument on the principal  square in Bardejov  inscribed in  the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, is the parish church of St Egidius standing in its northern part.

The Spiš community of Žehra is known for its precious local Roman-Catholic Holy Spirit church that is, along with other monuments around the Spiš Castle, included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.

The dominant of the square and the town of Košice is the monumental Gothic St Elisabeth Minster. This building, rather isolated from the rest of the square, is the largest church of Slovakia and the easternmost situated Gothic cathedral of western type in Europe.

The pride of every Christian city is its parish church. This is undoubtedly the case with St Martins Minster, Bratislavas biggest, oldest, and most spectacular church.

The bishop Cathedral of St Emeram at the Castle of Nitra originated by joining three temples of different age. It consists of the church from the 11th century, originally the Gothic Upper church from the 14th century and the Lower church from the 17th century.

The first Early Baroque building of national significance in Slovakia, the  university Cathedral of St John the Baptist is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Trnava.

The Franciscan church consecrated to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is very old. It is the oldest preserved sacral building in Bratislava.

One of the centres of the cult of the Virgin Mary of Seven Grievances, the patron saint of Slovakia is the church in Šaštín of 1736. It is visited by thousands of pilgrims not only from Slovakia but also from abroad.
