The economy of Slovakia is considered to be one of the fastest-growing market economies in Central Europe. Since 1989 it has undergone important changes the aim of which was, at first, the transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy. Other numerous reforms (health care, pension system, tax reform) have the objective to improve the economic situation of the country.
