Cable-ways in the mountainous areas of the High Tatras and the Low Tatras help the tourists to overcome the differences in altitude and to conquer their peaks without making much effort.

Once they used to serve to transport wood from forests closer to peoples dwellings, today they transport people closer to nature - to forests. We are speaking about logging railways nowadays used by historical trains pulled by steam engines. They create the feeling of nostalgia in adults and a happy smile on childrens faces.

That is why an old historical bus or train catches more attention in todays streets because it reminds the passers-by of the old days when such means of transport were accompanied by stamping of horse-shoes and swishing of ladys´ long dresses.
