By boat to Čunovo and Danubiana

Bratislavský kraj -> Okres Bratislava -> Bratislava
In summer season cruises by a sightseeing boat from the city centre to Čunovo will become a new attraction of Bratislava. Each Saturday and Sunday until 12 September 2010 a boat with the capacity of 120 persons and 20 bicycles will depart from the passenger terminal on Fajnorovo nábrežie (Fajnor Enbankment).
 

Hrubá Borša – new golf resort

Bratislavský kraj -> Okres Senec -> Hrubá Borša
On 18 June 2010 a golf course and driving range will be officially opened. A six-hole golf academy is built so that by its character the so-called shaping of greens and fairways correspond to future championship 18-hole course which is planned to be opened at latest in autumn 2011. Putting green will be located between the driving range and the 6-hole golf academy.
 

4-star camping site opened in Podhájska spa

Nitriansky kraj -> Okres Nové Zámky -> Podhájska
On 14 May 2010 a festive opening of the new 4-star “Camping Site At St. Urban´s” in Podhájska spa was held. The camping site offers outdoor accommodation with the capacity 30 places for caravans and 60 places for tents. It has the highest camping standard in Slovakia.
 

Along with spa season also the new tourist information office in Trenčianske Teplice spa opened

With the arrival of the 1st May another spa season was opened. However an interesting programme started already in the morning. The Tourist Association Trenčianske Teplice exactly on this day opened its new tourist information office.
 

The biggest raft U-slide in Europe in Tatralandia Aquapark

Eleven outdoor and indoor pools with thermal water, many slides and chutes,  relaxation in sauna world and since May also a unique novelty – the biggest raft U-slide in Europe wait for the visitors in the premises with the area of 14 hectares.
 

Kempinski Hotel River Park will be the only one of its type in Bratislava

Kempinski Hotels and Resorts is the oldest group of luxury 5-star hotels in Europe with more than hundred-year long tradition. Kempinski Hotel River Park in which in these days the final works are being completed will be the only European hotel added this year by Kempinski into its portfolio. The hotel will open its door for the first guests in June 2010.
 

New traffic regulations on Slovak roads from 1 February 2009

1 February 2009 brought motorists many changes in rules to which they had been accustomed - e.g. a lower maximum permitted speed in towns/villages, an obligation to have the dipped headlights on all year long and parking on sidewalks permitted only provided there has been free space of 1.5m left on the sidewalk. All new published data on Slovakia.travel web site or its parts are now available through the RSS channels as well. RSS is a format for data merging from the web sites that can be displayed in the RSS reader if they are processed into the RSS format or RSS channel.


 

A new relax centre AquaRelax in Dolný Kubín to be opened in autumn 2009

The foundation stone of the new aquapark was laid at the location of the former town`s swimming pool on 17/7/2008. The construction is to be performed in three stages and the opening of the aquapark is planned after the completion of Stage 2, i.e. on 1/9/2009. The new aquapark is to be an impetus for further development of tourism in Orava and, moreover, it will create 30 new jobs.
 

A new ski resort in the High Tatras – Tatranská Lomnica

Prešovský kraj -> Okres Poprad -> Tatranská Lomnica

Soon, on 13 December 2008, a new ski resort of Tatranská Lomnica in the High Tatras will be open for  winter sports fans, with which there will be 4.9 km of new ski pistes, a new 4-seat chair lift with the transport capacity of 2,400 persons per hour and 20 ha of new tracks with the snow-making system. The professional snow-making system on almost 4.5 km of ski pistes up to the altitude of 1,357 m guarantees excellent snow conditions throughout the whole winter.
