The slogan of the candidate city Košice in the competition for the title the European Capital of Culture and the winning project INTERFACE is the phrase USE THE CITY.

Festival of art, craft and fun will take place on 25-26th May in Banská Štiavnica. Traditional crafts, an attempt to to capture the castle, live  miner horologe as well as demonstration of a medieval bath. Atmosphere as cut out from old times. 

The third year of good food and drinks festival Slovak Food Festival will be held on 25-27th May 2012 in the exteriors of Bratislava Castle with excellent views of the city.

The Zamagurie folklore festival is a presentation of folk singing, dancing, games and customs of the Zamagurie region in the charming nature of Pieniny in the north of Slovakia. The festival is accompanied by a folk craft fair and the tasting of traditional Goral dishes.

Day of open St. Urban’s cellars connected with opening of the season on the Small Carpathian wine road.

Motoring events began in the thirties of last century and continue in the spirit of the tradition again this year. A programme-rich event, with a tour round the Small Carpathians through Trnava and Red Stone Castle and back to the Spa Island in Piešťany. The event will culminate with a “Concours d'Elegance” in front of the Thermia Palace Hotel.

It is the only festival of its kind in Slovakia, presenting unique dolls dressed in the traditional folk costumes of each of the participating ensembles. The festival has been held for three days every year since 1997.
