The town Dunajská Streda is situated in the south-west of the country and it has an interesting architectural monument. It is the Žltý kaštieľ or Yellow Manor House.

Bishop Mikuláš Kondé had this originally Baroque building built in the first half of the 18th century. The building was finished in 1770, but it was adapted in the Neo-Classicist style in the early 19th century.
The Žitnoostrovné múzeum with a permanent ethnographic and archaeological exhibition is now installed in this manor. It continues in activities started by the former Museum of 1927.
Exhibition hall situated next to the manor, the venue of several art exhibitions a year, was opened in 1986.
