The town of Kráľovský Chlmec invites you to its festival. Since this town and its surroundings are inherently connected with wine production, you can expect the right kind of the grape harvest feast and fair. The three-day programme will certainly please every visitor.
Kráľovský Chlmec and its near surroundings are known especially for their wines. The town is situated near the Hungarian border and the nationalities of Slovakia and Hungary have been always mixed with each other. Consequently, the south part of Zemplín gained its own cultural face, which you can also see if you visit the local traditional grape harvest festival.
This year the organisers prepared
a rich programme. During the
four festival days, visitors can enjoy
lots of performances and exhibitions. The main attraction is of course
local wine. The first day of the festival is reserved for the competition of this magical drink. During the other three days you can visit
the grape harvest fair accompanied by various events. Besides
performances by Slovak and Hungarian folk ensembles, you can also look forward to
modern music and dance groups as well as
theatre performances. The festival programme also includes
exhibitions of paintings, caricatures and old carriages as well as the curiosities, such as
an archery performance or a shuttlecock game. You say you do not know anything about this game? Come and try it and you will also spend a wonderful time in the atmosphere of a traditional grape harvest festival!
