Martina Moravcová is the world legend in swimming and the number of trophies she won ranks her among the most successful lady-swimmers of the world history.

She was born in Piešťany in a family of swimmers. She started her career at the age of six in the swimming pool Eva of Piešťany and ever since she is the member of the local swimming sports club Kúpele Piešťany. At her sixteen, she took part in the Olympic Games of Barcelona.
In 1993, she won her first medal in a top competition - silver in 100 m of free style. Since then she achieved more than 60 medals in the top European and world sport events. The most valuable of them are two Olympic silver medals from the long swimming pool in Sydney 2000. She was six times the Champion of the World and fifteen times Champion of Europe in the short swimming pool.
So far she is the holder of three world, 17 European and 194 Slovak records. For these accomplishments, Martina Moravcová was repeatedly awarded the title of the most successful sportswoman of Slovakia.
