Soon, there will pass exactly 100 years from the events, which warned the entire world before the national repression of Slovaks in the Old Hungary. The onehundreth years anniversary of the day, innocent lives were burned out in the Černová village, in order to whole world would realize the reality and uncover a gold foil of an apparent democracy of the Old Hungary.
On this occasion, a composed scenic program, in which amateurs from Černová, pedagogues and students of the Catholic University and the Business College from Ružomberok will be performed.
This program will be presented, on September 25, 2007, at 10.00 a.m. in a cultural resort of town Liptovský Hrádok, a day later, at the same time in the community centre in Liptovský Mikuláš and on the jubilee day, September 27, 2007, at 10.00 a.m. in the community centre of Andrej Hlinka in Ružomberok.
Andrej Hlinka is an indirect founder of these events. Inhabitants of Černová built a church with a self-help, which they wanted to be consecrated by Andrej Hlinka. But he could not satisfy this demand because of his suspension and his superior bishop did not stop the sanctification even when the inhabitants did not agree with it. The balance of this decision is fearful: 15 died, 10 hardly and 60 easily injured. Later, more than 55 people were accused. 40 people were condemned to jail and there were various pecuniary penalties and dispossessions of estates.
A memory on this event ought to recall the strengh of powerfulness in the improper hands to all people. The consequences of this event are burnt-out lifes, the Černovská tragedy should not happen again any more.
