The recreation area of Zlaté piesky is situated on the north-eastern edge of the Capital Bratislava in a peaceful place protected by abundant greenery. Its atmosphere is similar to that of a seaside.
A 400 metres long and 30 metres wide sand beach surrounds the artificial lake. Accommodation is available in a hotel, roadhouse and tourist cottages, with additional capacity of the car camping site. The area of the lake is 54 hectares and the capacity of the beach is 15,000 persons.
Apart from bathing, various sport activities can be pursued here. Tennis courts with night lighting, volleyball and streetball grounds, table tennis, rental of boats, tobbogan, mini golf, billiard and children playgounds are the facilities available to visitors.
Concerts of popular singers and bands and various sport events are held here almost every weekend. The lake also offers the possiblity of fishing.
