Passing through the region of Liptov, from Liptovský Mikuláš to Ružomberok, one must notice a huge water area of the dam Liptovská Mara. It is the largest water reservoir in Slovakia in terms of the confined water volume.
The Kunov Dam is a suburban holiday resort, located only five kilometres from the town of Senica.
The town Senec in the south-west of Slovakia (25 km away from Bratislava) is a known and popular destination of summer holidaymakers above all due to its stable weather and lakes Slnečné jazerá (Sun Lakes) that stretch on an area of 120 hectares.

The water reservoir Orava is the result of artificial blocking of the river Orava in northern Slovakia as the remedy to frequent floods. It spreads as far as the Polish frontier. There is an island in the middle of the reservoir called Slanický ostrov - the favourite destinations of trippers.
There are three most visited localities in the Pieniny Mts. - the wonderful canyon of the frontier river Dunajec, the almost 300 m deep narrow of the brook Lesnícky potok and the rocks Haligovské skaly.
A popular summer holiday resort, the water reservoir Sĺňava, is next to the world famous spa Piešťany situated in west of Slovakia.
Slovenský kras (Slovak Karst) along with the Aggtelek karst in Hungary forms one unit which is the most extensive karstic territory in central Europe. It stretches on the area of 600 km² and it contains 1110 caves and abysses.
