One of the much sought out attractions of the mountain range Vysoké Tatry is the funicular to the top of the peak Lomnický štít, the ride on which together with beautiful view offers an unforgettable experience.

The Krásna Hôrka Castle is situated east of Rožňava. It stands on top of the conspicuous unwooded mountain, which dominates the Rožňavská kotlina basin. The main attraction though is the embalmed body of Sophia Andrássy-Serédy. Writer Mór Jókai used the motif of the mummy in his novel The White Lady of Levoča.

The Castle is the most important dominant of the town Levice. It is from the end of the 13th century. It stands on top of volcanic rock protuberance above the swamps of the Hron river. It was the sentry fort guarding the road leading to central Slovakian mining towns. 

On a limestone cliff of 711 m over Stará Ľubovňa in the north-east of Spiš stands Ľubovňa Castle. Rulers met here in the past, it is the place where Polish coronation jewels were hidden and where famous adventurer, noble man and King of Madagascar, Móric Beňovský was imprisoned.

In the heart of the mountains Štiavnicke vrchy in central Slovakian village Svätý Anton (known as Antol before 1996) stands a monumental Baroque-Classicist manor house with a wonderful English park.

The Mausoleum of the family Andrassy in Krásnohorské Podhradie, which can be seen from the Krásna Hôrka castle, is called the Slovak Taj Mahal because it was also built as a memorial of a big love.

The Museum of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) is situated in an architecturally unusual building built in 1969 as the Memorial of the Slovak National Uprising. It is located in the middle of a park that includes an open-air museum of heavy military equipment used in the SNP.

The Military Museum in Svidník, eastern Slovakia, resides in the building whose shape reminds an anti-tank mine. This is so because its exhibition gives an interesting testimony of the course of the Carpathian and Dukla Operation in 1944.

The railway track between Pohronská Polhora and Tisovec is the unique technical structure. The trains had to overcome the altitude difference in the area of the mountain saddle by means of a rack.

The first asymmetrical suspension bridge and the second of this kind in the world, this interesting landmark of Bratislava was announced “the building of the century”.
