Fans of history can see the ruins of the Súľovský hrad Castle in north-western Slovakia.

The medieval power centre of Šariš was the Šarišský hrad Castle, the ruins of which are on the top plain of a distinct elevation above the town Veľký Šariš situated north-west of Prešov.

The ruins of the medieval Šášov Castle stand above the river Hron not far away from Žiar nad Hronom in central Slovakia. According to a legend, the lord of the Zvolen Castle had it built for his court joker who saved his life while hunting.

The castle is situated north-west of the East-Slovakian village Vinné.

If you find yourself in the mountains Biele Karpaty near village Pruské, an imposing view of the Vršatské bradlá cliffs opens in front of you. Remains of the royal sentry Vršatec Castle are on top of the rocks.

Not far away from Bardejov in north-east of Slovakia are the ruins of the Castle Zborov, also called Makovica.

High above the village Kláštor pod Znievom in the Malá Fatra Mts. raise the ruins of the Zniev Castle. It is the second highest situated castle in Slovakia (985 m).

The Watchtower is one of the most interesting sights of the historic centre of the town. Elderly inhabitants of Rožňava even nowadays claim there are only three significant towers in the world: those of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Watchtower in Rožňava.

The Owl Chateau, which is located in the vicinity of a Baroque-style manor house, features a detached exposition of the Tekov Museum in Levice called Franz Schubert's Commemorative Room.
